Our Purpose
Mortar Board is an association of individuals selected for distinguished ability and achievement in scholarship, leadership, and service. We strive every day, in every way, to promote these three pillars of our society in both our personal and professional lives.
Scholarship

Our National Project
Ever since 2002, Mortar Board as a society has passionately dedicated themselves to our national project - "Reading is Leading".
Individual chapters strive to promote literacy among all peoples by creating, hosting, or supporting events that promote reading to or alongside students of all education levels.
These events allow volunteers to share with reading partners about important topics such as honesty and leadership. These programs also allow us to make a positive difference in youth violence, illiteracy, and children at risk.
